BBA pupil shines at NEC Classic Car Show
A budding young mechanic from Bromley Beacon Academy, Maverick, impressed classic car enthusiasts at this year’s prestigious Classic Car & Restoration Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Attending as part of the Morris Marina Owners Club, Maverick helped run a working stand where he got hands-on with restoring a partially built Morris Marina. The aim was to get the suspension fitted so the car could become a rolling chassis again - ready for road use and future shows.
Working first alongside his dad, Maverick soon took the lead, fitting the left side of the front suspension completely on his own. When the crew checked over the work, they reported that everything Maverick had done was “faultless” and didn’t need a single adjustment!
Chris Weedon, Chairman of the Morris Marina Owners Club, was full of praise:
“Once he’s shown how to do something, Maverick has the concentration and independence to see it through. He’s a real asset to our club and we’d be glad to have him back again.”
To celebrate his achievement, Deputy CEO Neil Miller paid a visit to personally present Maverick with a set of mechanic overalls to support his passion.
A fantastic achievement from a pupil with real talent and determination; we can’t wait to see what he does next.
